South Park Blocks - Portland Apartments

The Ladd Block, comprised of Ladd Tower, Ladd Carriage House and 1923 First Christian Church, is located in the "Cultural District" in downtown Portland. Our front door faces the South Park Blocks, a graceful line of twelve city blocks that make up our city's "Central Park." The park starts three blocks north of Ladd, and extends southward into the Portland State University campus. The park is the unifying element of the Cultural District. It is a tranquil oasis of oak and elm trees, grass, drinking fountains, paths and wooden benches, and is enjoyed by residents, travelers, children, pets and foot commuters.

The Cultural District includes the Portland Art Museum, Northwest Film Center, Oregon Historical Society, Portland Center for the Performing Arts (including the 1928 rococo Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, home of the Oregon Symphony), the charming and historic Old Church event and performance center, the Central Library built in 1913, and many noteworthy century-old buildings and churches.

In addition to the "historic" nature of Ladd's neighborhood, we also enjoy the "modern." Ladd is home to these high-end retailers: Gifford's Flowers, Vertigo Style, and Gary Swank Jewelers. The closest restaurant is across the street, the venerable Higgins. Raven & Rose and it's acclaimed Rookery Bar are located directly behind the tower as well. Five blocks down Broadway is Pioneer Courthouse Square and all of the Max Lines.

"All of you at Ladd have been fantastic and so professional with my clients relocating from Europe. I really think good work needs to be recognized, there is so much competition out there. Ladd will do well with a team like yours." Lori Tydeman, Owner/Broker Worldrelo Realtors
